MAP OUR JOURNEY

I will be updating this page periodically, as we continue our travels!  These are the places our adventures aboard S/V Salt Whistle have taken us so far!  Each place that has a corresponding blog will be written in blue text, and linked to that blog entry.  Just click on the blue word!

This was our course through the Caribbean chain, as recorded by our GPS tracker

This Google Earth map shows all of the places we stopped on our sail south to Grenada

THE BEGINNING...

Our adventures began in the US Virgin Islands, getting Salt Whistle ready to sail.  We worked hard to save up money for cruising and boat repairs/improvements.  In our spare time we tackled as many boat projects as we could.

CRUISING THE WINDWARD ISLANDS...

OUR SECOND OVERNIGHT SAIL
After spending a week and a half in St. Martin learning about how we could legally work there and trying to find work, we decided that our funds were so low we didn't have time to mess around.  We'd have to establish residency, waiting for documents to arrive and our paperwork to process.  This could easily take a month or more.  It was already "high season," (End of November through approximately April is when tourism tends to be at its highest) and we needed to be making money rather than just spending it.  We did have some potential work lined up, but none of it was full time.  Rather than take the risk and staying, we decided to return "home" to St. Thomas where we knew work was plentiful, and we were already legal to work there because we are US citizens.

Our second overnight sail from was from Marigot, St. Martin to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

December 3, 2015 - Present - US Virgin Islands
(Charlotte Amalie & Red Hook, St. Thomas)
Nickname: The American Paradise; Official Language: English; Currency: US Dollar

We are currently back "home" in the USVI.  We are both working hard to save up money so we can maintain and fix up our boat/home, SV Salt Whistle, and hopefully soon afford to go on our next adventure!

I am working at Aqua Action Dive Center in Secret Harbor and Skeeter is working at Red Hook Dive Center.  If you're in the area, stop by and say "hi!"
